The First Baptist Church of Jackson was formed as an Independent Baptist Church on January 2, 2000. The first Sunday AM Service was on January 9th in the “Barn” located on the campus of the First Baptist Church of New Philadelphia.

The church started out with 23 adults and 25 children. First Baptist Church of Jackson was officially founded (incorporated) on March 14, 2000 and planted in Canton on March 22, 2000 by the FBCNP (also an Independent Baptist Church ) with Rev. Thomas E. Gang as the founding pastor. The first Sunday AM Service in Jackson Township was on March 26, 2000 in Jackson High School. During the first service, the church had over 160 people in attendance. Today, the average weekly attendance is over 400.

This picture commemorates our five years of meeting at Jackson High School. It was taken after a Sunday morning service the week before we left the High School to move into Sauder Elementary School approximately a half mile away. Although it was the beginning of summer "2005" vacation, we had a great turn out for the group photograph. There were almost 265 people including our members and guests. Wow, what a good looking bunch!

This picture commemorates our year and a half of meetings at Sauder Elementary School. It was taken after a Sunday morning service one month before we left this particular location to move into our new facility approximately one mile away. Wow, they just keep getting better looking over time!
